So much to do, so little time. So many little hands that can help and join in the fun!

Make Memories By Making Your Child’s Baby Book

Jackie-O scrapbooking with Caroline

Mother and Daughter Scrapbooking Session,  Jackie-O with Caroline.

My oldest daughter has a completed and thorough baby book detailing her every move up until age five. She keeps it in her room and enjoys not only looking through it herself but also sharing it with friends.

My younger daughter has an old shoebox filled with random photos and pieces of scratch paper revealing her momentous milestones. Her baby book, pages blank, had been laying somewhere in her closet.

Hopefully I am not alone in my situation! I have always had the very best of intentions in pulling it all together, but my good intentions had not yet created a memorable baby book for my youngest daughter (who was beginning to notice that this item was missing from her bookshelf).

Time just hadn't yet been on my side for completing this project until my recent realization...

I love spending time with my daughters and summer is a time in our family, which allows for much togetherness. Rather than waiting for some productive alone time, I have been working on this project jointly with my daughter. We are filling the pages together as I share photos and tell stories exclusively about her. She is all aglow in hearing about herself and is a creative inspiration in laying out the pages of the book.

We visited our local craft store and bought some fancy yet inexpensive accessories for mounting photos along with a few colorful writing pens.

I know that the time we are spending together on this fun project is powerful and is really showing my four year old how special she is to our family.

Once again, I hope I am not the only mother out there who has been using an overstuffed old shoebox for a baby book, and perhaps my solution may work for you too. So dig out those memories, share those great stories, and enjoy spending time with your children any time of the year!

Summer Lovin'
There is something I like about the routine of the school year. Perhaps I will love the routine of the summer time when I figure out what it is...

Eggs, Toast And A Side Of Cynicism
Cold cereal nourishes the body, but hot cakes (and other breakfasty-type foods with irresistibly enticing aromas) inspire action of the bounding-out-of-bed variety…

The Apples Of My Eye
I wondered how it would be to take my daughter apple picking: Would she throw a temper tantrum that two year-olds are so famous for? Would it be terribly muddy? (We city girls don’t get a lot of mud.)

Rockin' Out with Yo Gabba Gabba!
Then music started and suddenly, there he was: DJ Lance Rock live and in person … very tall, very thin and very orange...

Vacation Voyage: The Return
... you can't click your ruby slippers three times and miraculously find yourself home again … fully unpacked and completely settled...

Vacation Voyage: In The Beginning
My husband, our 22-month-old toddler and I are going on vacation for a week to Greece...
